GPIC Carbon-di-oxide Recovery (CDR) Project

Project Background:

GPIC decided to cut down green house gas (GHS) emissions and to improve the overall efficiency of the use of natural resources by setting up a Carbon Dioxide Recovery (CDR) Unit. The CDR Project, the first of its kind in the Middle East, was awarded to the EPC Contractor Technimont ICB (TICB), MCSC was the General Contractor for civil and mechanical construction activities.

Project Scope & Highlights:

  • Project Duration: 17 months (July 2008 to Dec 2009).
  • Manhours: 901,706 (without LT A).
  • Excavation work: 5,760Cu.M.
  • Reinforcement work: 300 Tones.
  • Concrete work: 2500 Cu.M.
  • Piping fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning: 40,000 Inch Dia.
  • Structural steel: 350 Tons.
  • Blasting and Painting: 8000 sq. Mtr.
  • Equipment erected: 63 Nos.
  • Stainless steel tanks designed, fabricated and installed: 3 Nos.
  • Carbon steel tanks designed, fabricated and installed: 2 Nos.
