LPG Treating Project for BAPCO

Project Background:

BAPCO has two liquid LPG treating facilities. No.1 treating unit treats LPG from the naphtha rerun complex (NRC) and No.2 treats olefin LPG from the gas concentration unit (GCU) at 2 Poly plant. Both 2Poly and 1LPG are in the fluid catalytic cracking unit area. H2S in sour feed LPG is removed using caustic and the spent caustic is discharged into the sea via sea water return channel having an environmental impact.

In order to address EHS issues related to caustic handling/disposal and ensure enhanced LPG recovery during the mode of operation, redundant column 8V402 and adding cooler/booster pump installed on amine circuit. The EPC contractor for this project is JGC.
