BAPCO In-line Blending (ILB)Project

Project Background:

The In-Line Blending facility project was the first step in modernizing the refinery of Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco). The project was successfully completed and inaugurated in June 2000. The facility comprises of three sections, batch blending of gasoline, batch blending of diesel oil, and continuous blending of fuel oil. At the core of these state of the art facilities are highly advanced analyzers that monitor and control the blending state of products on line from among the most recently developed analyzers in the world, which were the first to be employed in the Middle East. The EPC Contractor for the project was JGC Corporation, MCSC was the General Contractor for piping and mechanical activities.

Project Scope & Highlights:

  • Project Duration: 13 Months (April 1999 to April 2000).
  • Structural Steel Fabricated and Erected: 360 Tons.
  • Piperack Fabricated and Installed: 120 Tons.
  • Piping fabricated, installed, tested and commissioned: 170,000 Inch Dia.
  • Area Painted: 4,075 Sq.M.
  • Heat Tracing carried out: 510 mtrs.
  • Pressure Testing carried out: 620 Systems.
  • Wrap & Coating = 3,002 Sq. M.
  • Heavy duty pumps Installed: 40 Nos.
