GPIC Urea Formaldehyde (UF-85) Project (January 2019)

Project Background:

The project was a part of Gulf Petrochemicals Complex Expansion. The construction of Urea Formaldehyde (UF) Facility is expected to produce 22 metric tons per day of Urea Formaldehyde which is mainly used as an Anticaking Agent and as a spray coating agent in the fertilizer industry. The facility was constructed to secure GPIC’s needs of raw materials and chemicals necessary for its main manufacturing process. The plant manufactures Urea Formaldehyde, a necessary and key component in the production and manufacture of urea granules which GPIC has been currently importing from other countries.

The EPC contractor for this project was JGC Gulf International Co. Ltd and construction was awarded to MCSC.

The scope of work includes Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Equipment Installation, Painting and Insulation activities.

  • Area Painted: 1,846 Sq. M.
  • Structural Steel Fabricated & Erected: 113 Tons
  • Equipment Erected: 43 Nos.
