BANAGAS Field Pipelines & Sitra Storage Expansion Project (October 2018)

Project Background:

The Bahrain Gas Plant Expansion Project can be categorized into two sections such as installation of a new gas plant & installation of new pipelines and modifications of the Sitra storage facility.

The new expansion project involved construction of new pipeline system and modification of existing storage facilities at Sitra to accommodate additional gas production from new gas plant (CGP III) constructed by MCSC. This project was spearheaded by Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company (BNGEC) and JGC Gulf International was awarded the EPC contract.

Project Scope & Highlights:

The scope of work for this project includes Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Pipeline, Electrical, Instrumentation and Painting including Pre-commissioning & Commissioning assistance works.

  • Site Grading Works: 9,810 Cu. M.
  • Rebar Works: 800 Tons
  • Asphalting & Paving Works: 13,075 Sq. M. & 30,000 Sq. M.
  • Piping Welding: 58,000 Inch Dia.
  • Pipeline Works: 75,760 Inch Dia.
  • Area Painted: 27,600 Sq. M.
  • Structural Steel Erected: 490 Tons
  • Equipment Erected: 33 Nos.
  • E&I Cable Layed: 84,000 M.
  • Fibre Optic Cable Layed: 80,000 M.
  • Loop Checks: 1,700 Nos.
  • Functional Tests: 302 Nos.
