BAPCO Enhancement of Fire Protection System (EFPS) Project (October 2019)

Project Background:

Bapco has been operating for more than 80 years and has a Fire Protection System (FPS) developed and expanded over the years. Inorder to upgrade the existing Firewater System at the Refinery, Sitra Tank-Farm and Sitra Marketing Terminal so that the required firewater flow and pressure to fight the worst case fire scenario is available at the farthest hydrant from the main firewater pumps and meeting the latest NFPA standard, Bapco undertook the Enhancement of Fire Protection System (EFPS) Project. The new system consisted of 08 Nos. of 3000 USGPM diesel engine driven pumps (02 Nos. at Refinery and 06 Nos. at Sitra), approximately 45 KM of pipeline and its accessories, pump houses and related instrument and electrical work.
